Unifying Multi-Campus Student Records and LMS Access for a University Network

A regional university network serving thirty thousand students across three campuses sought to consolidate course registration and learning management access under a single portal.

Unifying Multi-Campus Student Records and LMS Access for a University Network

Challenge

Students taking cross-campus courses had to maintain multiple logins for different Moodle and Canvas instances. Grade records were manually transferred between campus Student Information Systems (SIS) at the end of each semester, resulting in delayed transcript updates, grade entry typos, and excessive support tickets for campus IT teams.

Solution

FlipWorks engineered a unified SAML 2.0 Single Sign-On (SSO) gateway and LTI 1.3 integration layer. We built automated data pipelines connecting campus SIS databases with a central learning portal, allowing students to access all assigned courses across campuses through a single dashboard while grade updates sync to student records automatically.

Result

  • Consolidated multi-campus course access into a single, unified student portal.
  • Eliminated manual grade record transfers between campus SIS databases at the end of semesters.
  • Reduced IT helpdesk password and login support tickets during semester enrollment weeks.
